Creating a Vintage Lounge Style with 1970s Bamboo Lounge Chairs and a Round Table
This vintage-specific space is created by combining not just furniture design, but also colors, materials, and accessories.
For this arrangement, we centered the lounge space around a bamboo frame lounge chair from around the 1970s and a glass-top round center table.
We combined deep red fabric, warm bamboo, and transparent glass, adding a vintage Kilim rug with a red base to the floor.
We further incorporated a rosewood shelf, an American vintage wall clock, and ornaments to create a space where the individuality of each item can be enjoyed, regardless of era or country.
Red Fabric Bamboo Lounge Chair: The Star of the Space
At the heart of this styling is a vintage bamboo frame lounge chair from around the 1970s.
The combination of the round frame, with arms that curve broadly and continue to the back, and the deep red fabric is striking.
The backrest features a fan-like design, allowing the lines of the bamboo to be clearly visible not only from the front but also from the sides and back.
This time, we arranged several chairs around a center table, envisioning a lounge space where people can enjoy conversation or relax with a cup of coffee.

Connecting Curves: A Bamboo-Base Round Center Table
In the center of the chairs, we placed a bamboo-base round center table, also from around the 1970s.
This piece features a round bamboo frame, radial supports, and a distinctive transparent glass top.
By incorporating bamboo, the same material as the lounge chairs, a sense of unity is created throughout the space, even when combining different furniture pieces.
Furthermore, the glass top allows the structure of the frame to remain visible and the view to extend to the floor, preventing the space from feeling heavy even with multiple lounge chairs.
This layout, with chairs surrounding a round table, is recommended not only for living rooms in private homes but also for lounge areas in cafes, shops, hotels, and more.

Unifying the Space with Red: A Vintage Moroccan Kilim
When combining furniture, rugs are a key element in unifying the entire space.
This time, we incorporated a vintage Moroccan Kilim with a red base.
By connecting the red fabric of the chairs with the color of the rug, a greater sense of unity is created throughout the space than if only bamboo furniture were arranged.
The intricate geometric patterns, a characteristic of handmade items, also provide a pleasant accent amidst the simple furniture.
Instead of placing the rug completely under all the furniture, we recommend styling it to reveal only a portion, allowing the pattern and color to serve as focal points.

Creating the Lounge Background: A Rosewood Open Shelf
Behind the chairs and table, we placed a rosewood open shelf from around the 1960s-70s.
The deep reddish-brown of rosewood blends well with the brown color of the bamboo frame, adding a sense of calm to the entire space.
The interior features two open storage sections, upper and lower, making it attractive for displaying everyday items such as books, dishes, and baskets as part of the decor.
By decorating the top with objects and vases, it can be used not just as storage furniture, but also as a display piece that forms the backdrop of the lounge space.

Adding American Vintage to the Wall: A Dr Pepper Wall Clock
By incorporating vintage items not only in the furniture but also on the walls, even more depth is added to the space.
This is a pub mirror style wall clock from the 1980s, featuring classic Dr Pepper advertising design.
With its Roman numeral indexes, wooden frame, and mirror, it has a strong presence even when simply hung on the wall.
Instead of uniformly decorating with only Danish bamboo furniture, adding a single American vintage piece creates a free styling that mixes eras and countries.
This item is also easy to incorporate into store displays that include walls, such as cafes, bars, and apparel shops.

Adding Character to the Space with Objects on Furniture
On the top of the shelf, we displayed a vintage vase and a ceramic Jesus Christ ornament.
By incorporating such objects, rather than just completing the space with furniture, a unique character specific to that place emerges.
The white ceramic provides a beautiful contrast with the dark rosewood grain, and placing a tall ornament naturally draws the eye upwards to the wall.
Combining items that you find interesting, without sticking to the same era or category, is one way to enjoy vintage interior design.

Creating a Vintage Lounge by Connecting Materials and Colors
In this styling, we based the space on the brown of bamboo, the red of the fabric and Kilim, and the deep wood tone of rosewood.
Although the furniture pieces are from different eras and countries of origin, having commonalities in color and material allows them to be naturally unified into a single space.
Furthermore, by adding light materials and colors such as a glass top and white ornaments, we balance the space so that the brown and red-centric decor doesn't become too heavy.
Rather than simply collecting vintage furniture from the same series or era, we recommend combining pieces while being mindful of the connections between materials, colors, and shapes.
